Literature, like other human sciences, with its emergence and sprawling, has been assigned with functions by man, and this has been the result of the existence of several characteristics in literature, such as the extent of influence, encompassing human feelings, thoughts and ideas, and transferring them to others through a metalanguage, which is a sublime, artistic, aesthetic and musical language. Poetry, like the most prominent genre of literature, has had a large share in this duty; according to the era and cultures of each nation, poetry has been charged with two main functions, which were that of conveying benefits and bestowing pleasure and beauty. The Kurdish nation was in its literature, and particularly in ancient and rich literature, which is classical literature, within the framework of these two main functions. In this research, one of the two main functions will be discussed; the aesthetic function of poetry, in the classical literature of lower Kurmanji. The research, based on descriptive-analytic method, consists of an introduction and two chapters. The question of poetry's function is discussed in the introduction. Then in the first chapter, the term and concept of Classicism in general and the concept of classical Kurdish literature and the start of the era are presented. In the second chapter, which is the practical part of the research, the aesthetic function of poetry is discussed by identifying the principles that give this task to poetry; which include language, imagery and music of poetry. This is presented with examples of poetry by the first-stage classical poets; the era of Baban's Principality (Nali, Salim and Kurdi)
